Past Events & Initiatives
This is a summary of some of the fun and exciting initiatives we have run over the years
Presence at COP28 in Dubai
MEC hosted its first-ever global event at COP28 at Monash University's Pavillion in the Blue Zone! A panel discussion on the empowerment of youth in energy in the APAC region was moderated by Fogamomi Nicc Moeono, and the panel was curated to include perspectives from different parts of the APAC region. The wonderful panellists who joined us were Jitsai Santaputra, Sho Hayashi and Claire Waghorn, who offered insights into their lived experiences as young thought leaders in the energy space.
Supporting the Connecting Green Hydrogen APAC Conference Youth Day
The Monash Energy Club has supported the Connecting Green Hydrogen APAC conference over the past few years by contributing to its Youth Day and the Youth Energy Competition. Youth Day is an event for early career professionals and entrepreneurs in the energy sector, offering a platform to exchange knowledge, showcase talents, connect with industry leaders and support the clean energy transition. The Youth Energy Competition is a hackathon-style event that brings together young energy experts to create sustainable energy solutions for Australia and the APAC region, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real challenges, develop technical and operational skills and promote innovation and collaboration.
